our work
The Jax Letter Writing Club has created over 15 different program options and serviced over 3,500 community members.
Program Spotlights

our classic meeting
Our classic meeting is a monthly workshop designed around one prompt voted on prior to the workshop. Each prompt is designed to be introspective and promote creative flow. The workshop style is intimate and not designed for independent work.

our social edit
Our social edit is a freestyled event that is not designed to focus on one prompt. This is more of an event and less of a workshop. Community members gather, share space, meet one another and social around letter writing prompts, arts and crafts and analog swaps.
specialized retreats
Our specialized retreats are half or full day workshops designed around a specific introspective theme in order to promote restoration and healing. There is a central focus, intimate sharing and gathering around the letter work as well as take away resources.

Literacy & Creative Expression

We create opportunities for healing through handwritten letters, helping people process emotions, express gratitude, reconcile relationships, and rediscover hope.
We strengthen relationships across generations, neighborhoods, and communities by making meaningful correspondence accessible to everyone.
We reduce loneliness by creating welcoming spaces and free letter-writing programs that remind every participant they are seen, valued, and connected to others.
We promote literacy, communication skills, and the arts by encouraging people of all ages to write, read, create, and share stories through the practice of letter writing.
